Ambulance Director, Jackson, MN

Charming and welcoming, the City of Jackson is located in southwestern Minnesota at the intersection of Interstate 90 and U.S. Hwy. 71, nestled in a valley of the West Fork of the Des Moines River. With a population of 3,360 in 4.6 square miles, Jackson is the largest city and the county seat of Jackson County. Jackson is the largest small city around. Surrounded by the prairies of southern Minnesota, the City provides a rare combination of scenic beauty with a vibrant industrial base, high quality of life, and small-town charm and feel.

The City of Jackson operates under a mayor-council form of government. The City has seven Council Members, including the Mayor. The City Administrator and all employees are appointed and/or confirmed by the governing body.

Jackson Ambulance Services responds to around 700 emergency medical calls and transfers per year in the City of Jackson and parts of Jackson County and provides transfers for the Jackson Sanfords Medical Facility. Reporting to the City Administrator, the Ambulance Director directs, manages, and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the Ambulance Service, including, but not limited to, the provisions for emergency medical services and transportation; repairs and maintenance on equipment; implementation of services, standard operating procedures, policy, and procedure; and promotion of the highest standards of emergency medical services. This position is FLSA Exempt; it may sign up for on-call shifts but is not required to.

The ideal candidate is a team builder with the ability to bridge and positively manage relationships. The chosen candidate is a visionary who is a proactive, creative, and collaborative leader who will grow with the Jackson community as it grows. This position requires a high school diploma/GED plus a minimum of five years’ experience in emergency services and two years’ experience in leadership/management. A minimum of two years’ experience as an NR EMT is required. Paramedic experience preferred. An associate degree or bachelor’s degree in emergency services/management is preferred. The City reserves the right to allow substitutions in the event that an applicant exceeds requirements in one area but may be deficit in another. The chosen candidate must be able to obtain a state of Minnesota driver’s license and must be able to respond to incidents within a 20-minute radius.

The salary range for this position is $70,000-$95,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

BLS Ambulance Manager Position

McGregor Ambulance Service

The City of McGregor has an immediate opening for the position of Ambulance Manager. This is a Full-Time position with Salary negotiable based on qualifications and experience.

Job Summary

  1. Performs supervisory, technical and clerical work with primary responsibility of the daily operation of a full-time BLS Ambulance Service, as well as coordination with Fire Department.
  2. Supervises current staff, while also recruiting new members.
  3. Additional work includes policy development and review, communications with physician medical director, city staff and council, and the public.
  4. Ambulance Manager must also be able to perform the role of EMT and/or Paramedic.
  5. Coordinating CPR, EMR and EMT training and certification as required.
  6. 48-60 hours per week including approximately 20 hours of office time and 40 hours of On-Call time, including some nights, weekends and holidays.
  7. Applicants should be self-motivated, able to work independently, possess good communication, leadership and teamwork skills, have no audio, visual or physical limitations, and be able to work in all extremes of weather.

Prerequisites

          Minnesota Certified EMT, AEMT or Paramedic

          Minimum 5 years of experience in Emergency Medical Services

Responsibilities of the role:

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Director of Clinical Services will handle overseeing the clinical department in the areas of planning, developing, coordinating, and implementing all clinical and quality assurance initiatives, including, but not limited to:

  • Supervise employees and leaders of the Clinical Department,
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the educational program to support organizational objectives.
  • Oversee Quality Assurance program initiatives, ensuring proper review of clinical measures in order to develop strategies for improvement
  • Coordinate with the Medical Director on clinical strategy
  • Translate and connect current organizational goals into department goals by developing long and short-term goals for the department and tracking progress and effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain annual budget for the Clinical Department
  • Develop and implement, in cooperation with the leadership team, a broad spectrum of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Regularly review clinical measures,
  • Develop and maintain through communication, delegation of responsibility, and authority to lead a productive and competent team
  • Additionally, this position will be responsible for managing Clinical department personnel, ambulance personnel, instructors, and other staff (both internal and external).

Education Requirements:

Required, Bachelor of Arts in related field or ability to obtain within 5 years

Preferred

  • Master's degree in related field
  • Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician Basic (NREMT) Basic, Intermediate, Paramedic Certification, or RN with EMS affiliation

Experience Requirements :

  • Six years in clinical managerial/leadership/Quality experience preferred.

Full-Time Paramedic
Lake City Ambulance


Lake City Ambulance is currently seeking a NREMT and MN EMSRB certified Paramedic to join a progressive ALS Ambulance service in SE Minnesota. The city of Lake City is located 65 miles south of the Twin Cities on the Mississippi River and Beautiful Lake Pepin. Lake City Ambulance Service is a Part Time ALS service that runs approximately 1600 calls annually. Full Time Paramedics are required to work 40 hours a week. This consists of one 24 and one 16-hour shift per week. There are opportunities for overtime however it is not required. Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, Current NREMT and MN EMSRB Paramedic Licensure, Current AHA ACLS, PALS, and CPR certification. All licensed Paramedics including new graduates are encouraged to apply.
